FORD POLICE
INTERCEPTOR - UTILITY EDITION

Ford is really
ramping up its lineup in preparation for the retirement of
the Crown Victoria. Ford has released news that it
will replace the Crown Victoria with the new Ford Taurus,
and supplement the additional needs of a patrol fleet with
the Ford Police Interceptor Utility (shown above).
As Ford closes out orders for the Crown
Victoria it opens a new chapter in vehicle evolution, and
hopes to retain the majority of its municipal customers.
The Crown Victoria has long been a reliable vehicle and has
retained customers with its almost bulletproof engine and
transmission combination. The two new Police
Interceptor models (shown below) are both offered in an
all-wheel drive and will allow officers better control in
unstable road conditions.

available in all-wheel drive)

The new Ford Police Interceptor Utility
(also available in all-wheel drive)

The engine that
powers this Ford Police Interceptor Utility model is a V6
3.5L, and if you do not get the all-wheel drive model it
comes standard with front wheel drive.
Ford also claims to have created more
interior room by reconfiguring items around the middle
console. We look forward to driving the new Utility
model, and will keep readers posted on its progress
throughout its debut.
