POLICELISTING GEAR REVIEW 11.03.2011
SAFARILAND SLIMLINE DOUBLE MAGAZINE HOLDER Making more room on a duty belt can be a bit like finding a spacious apartment in New York on a budget. Many officers are required to carry a litany of equipment, and the list continues to grow. Extra magazine pouches are vital for daily operations, but seem to take up a tremendous amount of space. Safariland has released an open top magazine pouch that leaves a very small footprint. There is always a constant struggle when selecting the most advantageous magazine pouch, and many are finding an open top system that is upright like this an evolving trend for officers. There are no flaps to slow down drawing the magazine and the screw in the middle of the two slots is for tension and allows the user to set the desired pressure. Several members of our team are currently wearing this model and love it, so much that we will not be going back to our old system. It seems to look good on any duty belt and we are finding most of our gear (flashlights, baton, ect.) ends up being an open top configuration if it has the ability to be held in place while wrestling or during a scuffle.
