BURRIS
ELIMINATOR LASERSCOPE
Meet the future of Marksmanship! We had the
opportunity to test this BURRIS Eliminator Laserscope and we
are certain it will re-define how police snipers, tactical
operators, and even patrol officers do their job. What
makes this laserscope so innovative and unique is its
ability to merge the functions of taking a shot where
distance becomes a factor.
We are still at the early stages of testing but wanted to
give an initial report of our findings. The scope does
so many things in the background it is difficult to wrap
your head around the idea that a scope can take into
consideration range, angle, and even factor in the size of
the round being fired.
The
laserscope was originally designed to help hunters take long
shots while increasing the efficiency of the shot. The
laserscope works very simply, place your cross hairs on the
target, hit a button, and the scope will do the rest.
Once configured to match the rifle and round being fired,
the laserscope then uses the rangefinder to display a
distance and lower the red dot to compensate for the drop of
the bullet. It really is that simple!
The scope is 4x12x42mm meaning the back of the laserscope
has an adjuster which lets the shooter zoom the scope from
4x power being the weakest (still very powerful) all the way
out to 12x which brings the target to whole new level of
clarity.
We see this being extremely useful for law enforcement and
are amazed at what Burris has been able to accomplish with
one single device. Conventional snipers often have
spotters who provide a number of details including distance,
wind, elevation, and other factors for the sniper to
account for.
The shooter must then take all of the information, put it
into a equation and take a shot based on the factors.
The Burris eliminator will lower the variables a shooter has
to account for and allow him to focus on the fundamentals of
taking a shot if needed.
This becomes even more critical when the stakes are on the
line and you may be firing at an adversary trying to kill
you or someone else.
Burris has plans to tailor this laserscope even more to the
uses of law enforcement and we are very anxious to fire the
next version which is under current development, especially
since we are overwhelmingly impressed with the current
scopes ability. The spokesperson from Burris was eager
to listen to a law enforcement / military perspective which explains why they
continue to evolve ahead of the pack with this new
technology.
We plan to post more footage of our tests, so check back.
In the meantime here is a teaser video which gives a visual
overview of the scope and how its setup:
