MAKO - ALUMINUM QUAD RAIL (NFR-M5)

One of the first upgrades people typically make to a stock
AR15 rifle is to replace the hand rail.
MAKO is a
leader in AR15 accessories and offers a great quad rail system.
The MAKO
NFR-M5 is eight inches and is designed to replace the
midsize rail on the AR15 style rifle.
The quad rail is very easy to install and we have been
testing the unit for about three months now. The
installation was very simple and without being a gunsmith we
were able to replace the factory polymer rail in about
fifteen minutes. The rail system is secured with four
bolts and it aligned perfectly thanks to the anti-rotation
locking tabs.
The benefits of a quad rail system are endless and we have
attached almost every accessory imaginable to the gun during
our testing of the rail. Our picatinny rail
(standardized shape to allow accessories) was used to hold
lasers, lights, and grips. Overall we tried about 20
different accessories on the gun and each slid on with ease
and functioned flawlessly.
Aside from banging the rail around the inside of a police car
for over 120 shifts, we gave the
MAKO rail some
special "love" on the range and we dragged our rifle through
mud, over obstacles and into concrete structures. The
MAKO rail
system has yet to show any signs of fatigue and we intend to
post more information and pictures of our rifle in the
coming months.
