SAFARILAND SHIELD

SAFARILAND is evolving its Tactical Shield line to better server police officers in stressful situations.  We caught up with an account manager at the SWAT challenge and he advised us of a few changes.  Most easily seen is the viewing glass, and it now is shaped to allow officers a better viewing window.  The lights on the shield are still great and after seeing the shield dropped almost five feet on its face we were impressed.

Having a few shields strategically placed in patrol vehicles or in a supervisors vehicle provides an added layer of protection for officers who do not have the luxury to wait for S.W.A.T. in an active shooter situation, bank robbery, or even barricaded subject situations where a shield alone can help officers safely unarm a person.
