BEST ITEMS FOR 2012
HERA ARMS LINEAR COMPENSATOR
This linear compensator from Hera Arms is not a silencer, and is considered a compensator with a forward porting design (great to avoid silencer paperwork and also helps to avoid legal issues). The most interesting part of this compensator is it promises to lower the noise a shooter hears since it channels the energy to the front of the gun.

MAGAZINE FED SHOTGUNS
Travis Haley holding a modified Saiga Shotgun (AK Platform)
Military Times - Youtubes user Stermgewehr is holding a Krebs Modified AKDAL MKA 1919 shotgun (M16 Platform)
With so much muscle memory that goes into shooting it is a surprise it took this long for shotgun manufactures to catch on to the niche in creating magazine fed shotguns that use the same type of controls as either an M16 or AK style rifle.
We expect to see sales in both Akdal, and Saiga this year and hope to add a few test rifles to our arsonal of innovative guns this year.

US PALM ASP-C PLATE CARRIER WITH ARMOR
If you take nothing else away from this list please consider this item. Armor helps officers, home owners, and would be victims protect vital organs and will stop heavy caliber rifle rounds. The stystem is "ready to go" and has an MSRP of $399.00 with the armor plates already installed. This should be in the trunk of every police car regardless of size, and we have found it to be effective even at home. Imagine you hear someone in your home, and you grab a gun, but have no ballistic protection, place to put your gun, or restraints to secure the person if they decide to give up...This plate carrier will give you piece of mind and then some.

The pistol mags are held in place with the assistance of a magnetic bottom, and we have yet to have a problem with our unit.

WINDHAM WEAPONRY
With a saturated market it has become difficult for Americans to pick an AR style rifle, and decide which gun is the best investment. If you are a huge fan of American made products, and want to support a come back company check out Windham Weaponry. The company is formerly known as Bushmaster, and after financial troubles the employees scraped up the cash collectively as a group to reopen as Windham Weaponry. The rifles are still manufactured in the United States, and by the very same hands that have provided consumers with quality firearms for years. The rifles are affordable, retain all of the modern amenities we have come to appreciate, and send a message to the folks at Windham that the American dream is still alive and firing away. HMMWV PROGRAM
If your a federal, state, or local law enforcement agency you can submit an acquisition for surplus military vehicles, weapons, and gear. The unusual amount of quality HMMWV's are due to an overwhelming shift of branches to utilize the MRAP which provides a safer platform for IED explosives.
In addition to low mileage vehicles, the military also has high caliber sniper rifles, personal protection equipment, and endless pallets of gear that can utilized by law enforcement agencies. There are a few hoops to jump through to pick the gear up, but clicking a few links and faxing a few forms is certainly worth a vehicle that can handle storm details and rescue work for many years to come.

AMSEC DEFENSE VAULT
Here is the scenario, you get home from working a long shift and as usual you cannot sleep. You hear a window break and instantly know someone is inside of your home by the sound of footsteps. As the steps get closer to your bedroom, what is your plan? Many people across America have firearms secured in a safe that may not be immediately accessible.
This safe solves that and allows any homeowner to keep both a long gun and hand gun readily accessible from your bed. In our scenario you in all likelihood could roll out of bed and grab the handgun, allow your significant other if you have one to wait on the side of the bed near the shotgun while calling 911.
The AMSEC Defense Vault (shown above) utilizes valuable space under a bed to store firearms on a unique slide out tray allowing for easy access in the dark. Aside from easy access the panel is illuminated, and mounting brackets allow you to secure it in virtually any configuration.
Look for more in the coming months on this vault, but we can already see a tremendous value in having this vault, a 12 gauge home defense shotgun, and a high capacity .45 handgun.

SPYDERCO YOJIMBO 2 KNIFE
Back by popular demand the Spyderco Yojimbo 2 sees a revision and improves qualities which were some of the best in the industry already. The knife meets the contour of your hands very well, and the ergonomics of this particular knife is natural to work with.
The blade portion of the knife is a straight edge and access is gained from a large thumb hole. The blade length is 3.11 inches and the overall length is 7.55 inches when open. Spyderco has become known for quality knives and this revision is another sign of Spyderco's dedication to continually make their great knives even better.

MOTOSHOT TARGET SYSTEM
The days of shooting at paper targets from the 15 yard line are dissolving. Similar to the days when agencies realized the effectiveness of carrying semi-automatics as primary duty weapons, firearm instructors are seeing tangible results by evolving training tactics for range training.
The MOTO SHOT system shown above is remotely operated, portable, and capable. It brings a real world scenario to the officers being trained, and helps them maintain current tactics. The system can be manipulated to meet the needs of the scenario, and the bad guy (target) can be configured to drop when hit with shots.

2MCCTV 2M-BIRKIT
If you like to see what goes bump in the night, or do not want to answer the door for safety reasons, this camera may be just the solution. 2MCCTV is a distributor for all types of residential and commercial camera equipment and offers this great package that can be hooked directly to a television.
The camera is listed less than $100.00 and installation was easy. We put the camera up to monitor activity outside the door of our office and it required no professional installation. It can be done in less than an hour if you are handy enough to use a drill and other common tools.
If you have a home with an open attic or basement the installation might be even easier since you can just run the wires and tap them into the room where the monitor or television is located.
Aside from strong construction the camera is able to fight off the elements, and has infrared capabilities which allow you to see approximately 30 feet in darkness.

CONDOR EDC BAG
The Condor EDC bag is a versatile solution for your every day carry needs. The bag is made of sturdy nylon and is of sound construction. It has a sling design that allows you to carry the bag slung across your shoulder, giving you easy access to the bag when you need it. There is also an additional strap that helps secure the bag around your waist. This assists in keeping the bag secure and in place in the event you need to run while wearing it. There are many pockets and compartments for all your weapons and gear. During our test officers were able to carry a full size Smith and Wesson M&P 40 and other comparable handguns with two additional magazines. The handgun is secured with a universal holster that adheres to the inside weapon compartment with Velcro. The holster is sold separately from the bag, but it is a vital purchase. Velcro wraps the handgun and an elastic strap holds the weapon in place. The compartment is sealed with a heavy duty one way zipper.
The compartment for carrying extra magazines is secured with a quick release clip buckle. After you release the buckle, you flip up the flap and you can then access the compartment using the heavy duty two way zipper. The compartment features four elastic loops that can hold magazines, flashlights, etc. In between the weapon compartment and the extra magazine compartment, there is a two way zipper compartment that is goo for holding credentials, cell phones, gps, handcuffs, or any other items that you wish to carry. The compartment is spacious and features two pockets. One solid fabric, and the other mesh. The EDC bag also features exterior MOLLE attachment site, that allow you to add on to the bag. We tested the black bag, but it is also available in OD, Coyote, and Multicam. Please support officer owned businesses if purchasing and consider getting the bag from our brothers over at American Infidel by clicking here http://www.americaninfidelinc.com/product_p/156.htm POLICE GEAR REVIEW 12.26.2011
DIEHARD PORTABLE POWER PACK 1150
Agencies spend thousands outfitting police vehicles with electrical equipment. Often there are instances where officers would benefit greatly by having a multi-use portable power pack at their disposal. We have been testing the Diehard Portable Power 1150 model (shown above) and are impressed by its utility. The purpose of this unit is to provide emergency power on the go, and this particular model does so in a number of ways. It offers the ability to jumpstart vehicles, inflate tires, provide conventional outlet power, 12v PowerPoint access, and even USB charging for electronic devices. Once the unit is fully charged it switches to float mode and consistently monitors the battery level to ensure readiness. If the power pack is in a vehicle for an extended time it can be checked by quickly pushing a button to see the battery percentage. After speaking with a representative from Sears we also learned the internal battery can be replaced at a fraction of the cost once the power pack loses its ability to charge. LIFE CUBE
Life Cube has set out to change the way we respond to emergencies and has developed a structure that goes up in minutes. The inflatable structure provides shelter, heat, and even food for five. The Life Cube (shown above in various configurations) also has a hard floor and proprietary system that inflates the walls in moments with the use of air.
The exterior is made from military grade fabrics that have been tested and abused by our troops for years. When boxed up into the cube the unit fits in the bed of a truck, can be rolled around with its mobility system, and promises to provide aide for towns encountering an emergency or disaster. There is also talk of a "recreation version" of their tent which promises to change the game for campers, hunters, and off-duty police officers who like to get out into nature after a busy week. SOE CHRISTMAS STOCKINGS
Have someone that knows more about M.O.L.L.E. webbing than the opera? If so you can wow him or her with a tactical stocking from Special Operations Equipment. The stockings are available in ACU camo, black, coyote, foliage, multicam, and olive green. The best part about the stockings is the ability to personalize them with name tags, patches, and have M.O.L.L.E. webbing to attach accessories.

CHEVY POLICE VEHICLES
Ford has stopped production on the Crown Victoria, and there is a natural gap for competing companies to jump into the game. Chevy is ready and feels many of the attributes Ford has discontinued will be the very fiber that helps them fill more parking spaces at police departments across America. Most likely to win the vacancy from Chevy is the Caprice, Tahoe, or Impala (shown above from left to right). The Caprice is certainly a contender for agencies who still want to maintain the legacy setup of rear wheel drive, and the Tahoe is getting great reviews for agencies seeking an SUV that can take heavy abuse. MOPHIE JUICE PACKS
Mophie offers a number of juice pack / battery cases that are useful for people who work extended shifts and need a little extra battery life. The protective case embodies a slim battery that nearly doubles the life of an iPhone 4 or 4S. Quality of the case is refined, and access to all buttons and controls is unrestrictive. In addition to the regular juice pack models Mophie now offers an outdoor addition (shown above in orange) that renders assistance to hikers and rescue teams with the use of a proprietary GPS application.
